“Terrific potential and pure botrytis character to the aromas and flavors of dried mushrooms, clove-like spices, and dried fruit, such as apricot and pineapple. It’s full-bodied, very long, and intense with a great finish. Lively and compact with a dense but agile center palate.”

“While I wasn't able to taste many Sauternes in 2021, everything I was able to taste was impressive. The 2021 Château Suduiraut is great example, offering a thrilling perfume of orange blossom, honeyed citrus, sweet mint, and even a kiss of chalky minerality to go with a medium to full-bodied, pure, seamless, straight-up gorgeous profile on the palate. It brings plenty of sweetness, yet the freshness, purity, and balance are as good as it gets.”

“The 2021 Chateau Suduiraut is breathtaking. It is also a miracle wine. Conditions nearly wiped out the entire crop. Yields were just one hectoliter per hectare. No, that is not a typo. One hectoliter per hectare harvested on one of the three picks that year. Orange confit, dried flowers, jasmine, passionfruit, ginger, and light tropical accents lend tremendous character. Racy and creamy to the core, Suduiraut retains a gorgeous sense of floral lift and freshness. It's a fabulous Sauternes.

“This is gorgeous, jumps out of the glass with its grated ginger, white fleshy pear, and luscious quince, 138g/l sugar, 50% new oak. A brilliant Sauternes, this is gorgeous, just a lovely wine, but only 1hl/h yield.”

“Such an expressive nose as you’d expect from such tiny quantities of 1hl/ha in 2021. Candied lemon, wild honey, honey blossom, and sweet orange on the nose - just smells so incredible. Sensual yet delicate, this has a real freshness and gentleness so you get a Sauternes weight and density on the mid palate but such refined edges and sense of lift. Aromas are more pronounced that expected - purity and freshness but an overwhelming sense of high definition, there is no hiding here so as well as the sucrosity you get the minerality and cinnamon edges that give the wine a real character. I love it! Sophisticated and thoughtful! 500 case production. 138g/l sugar.”

“Straw yellow colour. Complex and multi-layered with incredible balance and freshness. Intense and richly botrytised on the nose with marmalade, honey, and floral notes. Palate rich and pure but matched by a line of pithy acidity that gives it balance and great length. A real elixir but beware, there’s not much to go around.”
